Nature & Myth

Majestic White Oak Trio next to Mill River & Brookside Park...Connecticut.

"Jung said that the soul cannot exist in peace until it finds its other, and the other is always a you! That's what romance is all about...and myth. We're in our own world and we're in the world that has been given us outside..and the problem is to achieve a harmonious relationship betw. the two.

Anyone who has had an experience of mystery knows that there is a dimension of the universe that is not that which is available to his senses...People living in the world of nature experience such moments every day. They live in the recognition of something there that is much greater than the human dimension."
(Excerpts from The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell with Bill Moyers, 1988. Cropped illustration from special edition promotional pkg. by Charles Van Sandwyk, How to See Fairies.)
