and insects, which looked fathered
by the flowers...
butterflies, that bear
Upon their blue wings such red
embars round
They seem to scorch the blue air
into holes
Each flight they take...
Elizabeth Barret Browning
(1806-1861) English Poet
Listening to bird songs, searching for birds in the branches, and gazing in the sky for their lingering flights are some of the bird-related routines I try to enjoy every day that it's possible. For the last couple days a colorful bird cage has been created...inspired by a similar one I saw at Anthropologie.
It consists of a round cardboard base & a cut-out plastic milk carton, metal hook for hanging, beads for trim, and canvas ribbon.
The birds were each attached to
wooden whistles. A large egg
floor...embellished with a cut-out butterfly from the cage fabric.
"Remember that the most beautiful things in the world are the most useless; peacocks and lilies for instance." John Ruskin (1819-1900) English critic/essayist
