Secret Gardens Grin..full view Whimsical Mixed Media Sculpture...Wooden Secret Garden Base for this 15" wide x 35" high piece. Inspired by 1980's greeting card (installed at top) of cheshire cat in tree & rainbow. I have boxed it into a wine-bottle gift box (heavy cardboard)..Grinning above the "treehouse" is a cheshire cat (Disney character, of course!)from one of our family Disney trips in the early 90's...the sun and moon dangle from branches topping this whimsy garden.
The core of the garden is held together by a wonderful wire tree made by my brother-in-law, Rick...an electrical contractor, who made this in his spare time (& other trees) as a hobby. It is flexible, yet strong wire and the treee holds polka dot accessories, birds, & the tree house.
In the garden is hidden a rainbow which can only been seen in the mirror's reflection. A wooden carved pedestal holds a proud frog on which two baby chipmunks rest. A gnome rides a silly frog. A crocodile borders the box with fierce big teeth amidst red & white napkin rings & an array of colorful buttons & waxed walnuts.
